Logan Bubbles Over!

A Celebration of Sparkling Wine

Spring is here; summer is coming, and it’s time to lighten up and celebrate! To help, Logan will be featuring some of our favorite Champagne and sparkling wine throughout May. They may be pink, or pale; dry, or a little sweet, and they'll even be made into cocktails from time to time. It’s going to be fun, seasonal, and delicious. Wines will be available by the glass, bottle, and as part of our Tasting Menu Wine Flights. Don’t miss out!

Chef’s Garden Spot

April has come and gone, and it was a great month to begin gardening! Ryan has been working diligently to get us started well this year. The soil has been enriched with some excellent compost. We’ve collected thousands of pounds of kitchen vegetable waste, which Ryan has composted along with yard clippings, and mixed that with horse manure. This year, we’ll capture rainwater in barrels for extra irrigation we didn’t have last year. We’re excited to see what these improvements bring. Now that the trees are budding, the grass is growing, and tulips are blooming everywhere, it won’t be long and planting will begin. Anticipation!

Take it Outside!

With the weather finally warming up, keep an eye out for our patio seating to return! It’s the ideal spot to check out our newly updated and expanded cocktail menu. We’ve included more seasonal options; lighter, fresher and bubbly drinks we think are perfect for outside sipping. As always, seating is first come, first served. We can’t reserve outside tables days in advance, but we'll do our best to accommodate “call ahead” seating for the same day. It’s the best place in Ann Arbor for great food, drinks, and people watching. We hope to see you soon!

Welcome Spring

Though we’re still feeling the last icy caress of Winter, the signs of a dawning Spring are undeniable. The days are getting longer. The Sun is higher. Everything is stirring; awakening. The life force returns, and nature provides her first gifts. Ramps and morels emerge, and we enjoy their bounty. This is always an exciting season for our kitchen when we finally can source the best of local produce as it becomes available. Don’t miss out on our special appetizers, entrees, and tasting menus throughout the month to see what we’ve found!

Appreciating Women Winemakers

Thank you all for making our first Celebration of Women Winemakers a great success, and we’re eager to make this an annual event. The wines were spectacular and your response was inspiring. But, to be honest, every month here is a celebration of gifted winemakers, female, male, or however they choose to identify. Women have had, and always will have, an important place in Logan’s wine program. That’s not going to change. And those great wines? They’re still available, if you did miss out! There’s still time!

Cocktails, Anyone?

As spring approaches, it’s time to come up with some new cocktails, and just spruce things up a little with our craft cocktails. Stop in and say hello to Monica, our great new bartender. She’s got a ton of great ideas for some new drinks for spring, and we’re busy making them work. Want to see? Grab a seat at the bar, and bring a sense of adventure. Let’s have fun!

Garden Spot

Sure, it’s a little early to start talking gardening, but we’re getting ready! As soon as we can start tilling, we’ll keep you filled in on what we’ll be growing this year for you to enjoy. Stay tuned!

Winter Welcome

As we get deeper into Winter’s frosty grip, a little Logan food and service is the perfect antidote! Delicious comfort food, a glass of wine, and watch the folks outside scurry to their cars. It’ll fix what ails you…

Valentine’s Day at Logan

It’s nearly time for Logan’s 13th Valentine’s Day celebration! Not surprisingly, reservations are going fast, but we do want to let folks know what will be happening here that night. As always, we will be offering a special five-course menu, and our regular menu gets the night off. The menu will be $70, and there will be a choice of two different wine flights chosen to accompany it.

The first flight, The Contemporary, features wines that are a little more festive and fun, and it is $35. The second flight, The Classic, features more famous and exclusive wines, and it is $50. In either case, you’ll start with a delicious sparkling wine with your first course; with each of the following courses being paired with a half-glass of wine. Each flight will be about equal to a half bottle of wine.

Also, Summer has created a special cocktail for this evening, and our full bar will be available. We hope to see you here!

A Fresh Look for Logan!

If you haven’t been by the restaurant over the past few weeks, you’re in for some pleasant surprises. The first thing to look for is our terrific new sign designed for us by local craftsman, Mark Challou. We love it! It combines elements of classic Americana but in a contemporary, fresh fashion. It’s like Christmas every time I see it…

Speaking of Christmas, this year we turned over our lovely front windows to John Copley and band of artists to decorate for the holidays for the first time (and I hope it won’t be the last!). John is responsible for much of the beautiful decorative painting adorning windows on storefronts throughout downtown Ann Arbor. John and local artist Mary Thiefels created a stylized wreath motif for us with silhouettes of bearded barley, holly leaves, and curly little tendrils. It has very little color, except a few accent points of holly berries and Christmas bulbs. They appear to be as much etched into the glass as they are painted--it’s all just gorgeous. Come see!

Give the Gift of Logan!

As the holidays and the end of the term approach, don’t forget Logan offers gift certificates for any amount. It’s the perfect gift; it fits everyone, isn’t perishable, and you can buy them while you’re having dinner--such a deal! Or, you can do it from home in your pajamas--just call us at (734) 327-2312. It’s that easy…

New Year’s Eve at Logan!

It’s not too late to reserve your seats for the last special event for 2016 here at Logan--our New Year’s Eve Extravaganza! We are putting away our regular menu (for that night) to prepare a very special five-course menu for one night only! To round out your experience we are, of course, offering a specially selected wine flight and, of course, it just wouldn’t be New Year’s without some really great champagne. Spaces are available throughout the evening for this delicious event. Come early and still make it to your party or come later and toast the New Year with us! Call 734-327-2312 for more information or to make reservations! Please remember, we do require a credit card number to confirm reservations for this evening…

Chef’s Garden Spot

I’m wondering if this won’t be the last word on our garden this year. October has been so nice, and the late season produce: purple sweet potatoes, squash, and even some late green tomatoes that we’ve fried, has been wonderful. Soon, the frost will come and we’ll call it a season, but Spring is only five months away?
