July 2018 Newsletter Logan Restaurant Ann Arbor, MI

Vacation

Thank you all for a great first half of 2018! It’s July, and there are changes to our scheduled hours you should know about! First, we'll be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, July 3rd and 4th, to celebrate the Fourth of July. We'll return Thursday, July 5th.

Then, we'll be closed for Ann Arbor’s Art Fair and on break July 15th-24th. We'll return for business Tuesday, July 26th. We look forward to seeing you all then!

New Drinks

Stop by and say hello to our new bartender, Raleigh Juchartz! You may recall him from his time at Last Word, and now we're glad to welcome him to our team! He’s already developed a handful of new and exciting cocktails for us, and you definitely need to check these out! They're truly inventive, colorful, and delicious.

They'll be prominently featured as cocktail selections on our new menu and on our updated “Specialties of the House” list in our beverage menu. Cheers!

New Menu

As we posted in our June 2018 Newsletter, we've been working on the biggest change to our menu since we opened in 2004. However, this time, you’ll also see an entirely new menu format!

Look for new items in our starters area, with some that are intended to share, and some that are individually sized. There are some refinements to our salads and pastas. The Bacon and Egg Salad will now have actual bacon, and not the bacon crouton, and our house-made gnocchi will be served with an arugula pesto. Also, we'll have a section of the menu that'll highlight recommended wine and cocktail pairings.

We’ll be keeping our signature entrees, but now they'll be offered in petit and full-sized portions. There’s something on our menu now for all types of dining. We also are creating a selection of Custom Entrees, combining your choice of locally-sourced Tomahawk Pork Chop, Butterfly Rainbow Trout Filet, or New York Strip Steak, with your choice of two sides. Those will come from a new sides menu that'll feature several potato options (including four variations of mashed potatoes), cheese grits, and four vegetables, as well.

We hope to make it easier for guests with specific food needs or preferences to be able to choose items that suit them, and avoid things that don’t. We're really excited to share this with all of you!

New Menu Coming!

Late Spring is the time Chef prefers to update our menu items, and this year is no different. However, this time, you’ll also see an entirely new menu format!

It’s a lot of changes; by far the most we’ve had since our first menu. We're still working on the final details; look for this menu to be on your table after Restaurant Week!

Ann Arbor Restaurant Week: Open Monday this Time!

It’s that time again! Join us for Ann Arbor’s celebration of dining out, Restaurant Week! As always, we'll be offering a special 3-course menu for just $28. For fans of wine, we'll have flights of 3 special selections available to complement your menu. But this time, we'll be open on Monday, June 11th for even more folks to enjoy this special offer!

As it's our busiest week of the year, reservations are highly recommended. Even now, many popular times are filling up, so don’t wait too long to book a table. Remember, we'll have space for walk-in seating at our bar, and, weather permitting, our outside seating, even if our reservations are full. Hope to see you here!

June 11th -15th (at Logan)

Take it Outside!

Now that the weather is finally warm, it’s time for our patio seating! It’s the ideal spot to check out our newly updated and expanded cocktail menu. We’ve included more seasonal options; lighter, fresher, and bubbly drinks we think are perfect for outdoor sipping.

As always, seating is first come, first served. We can’t reserve outside tables days in advance, but we'll do our best to accommodate “call ahead” seating for same-day requests. It’s the best place in Ann Arbor for great food, drinks and people watching. Hope to see you soon!

April 2018 Newsletter Logan Restaurant

Welcome Sping!

Though we’re still feeling the last icy caress of Winter, the signs of a dawning Spring are undeniable. The days are getting longer. The Sun is higher. Everything is stirring; awakening. The life force returns, and nature provides her first gifts. Ramps and morels emerge, and we enjoy their bounty. This is always an exciting season for our kitchen when we finally can source the best of local produce as it becomes available. Don’t miss out on our special appetizers, entrees, and tasting menus throughout the month to see what we’ve found!

Appreciating Women Winemakers

Thank you all for making March’s Celebration of Women Winemakers a great success! The wines were spectacular, and your response was inspiring. But, to be honest, every month here is a celebration of gifted women, and we’re showing that by continuing our promotion through April 12th. As March progressed, we just kept finding more wines, and coming up with memorable food pairings. All that is still available, if you did miss out… There’s still time!

Coming Soon: Mana!

Chef Thad and Ryan are busy preparing for their next project: Mana! It will be a place where you can enjoy the flavors you’ve come to love at Logan, but in a more affordable, casual setting. The menu will be focused on Asian inspired sandwiches and custom “build your own” bowls that you’ll create by choosing from a menu of proteins, sauces, and accompaniments. Menu work continues; we’ll provide more details as the opening nears. Mana will be located on Liberty, in the Downtown Home & Garden building. Construction has begun at the new location, and work should be completed in the next few months. However, an opening date is still TBA. Stay tuned!

So Long, Vogel's Lock & Safe…

We're sad to see our neighbors, Vogel’s Lock & Safe, close after 105 years of serving Ann Arbor. Though we only knew them for the last 14 years or so, we'll remember the “burger days” with them when we still did lunch, the great deals we got on our safes, and all our many UPS deliveries that they received by mistake and returned to us. Happy trails Vogel's, you’ll be sincerely missed.
